It’s been a minute since my Royal Caribbean: Part 2 post! Life is crazy when it’s summertime and the kids are out of school and I’m trying to entertain them, work and keep up with ALL the things.
After we had our reception and said our goodbyes to our family we embarked on another hour long photo session of just us all around the boat. That was included in our platinum photography package on Royal Caribbean’s wedding add ons. It was really fun to do our first official photoshoot together but we were definitely ready to get back to our suite and get our honeymoon started.
Our suite was very beautiful, we had a balcony that faced the outside of the boat. So we had gorgeous ocean views every day. When we arrived to the suite, we received Moet champagne with chocolate strawberries on our deck. The staff had put all of our wedding gifts and cards in our room along with our bags.

I’ll spare you the rest of the details but it was such an amazing first day. I will say though, if you get motion sickness at all, definitely opt for a room in the middle or toward the front of the boat. We were toward the back and the first night I was pretty sick in the wee hours of the morning. It also was October, which is hurricane season so the waters were a little rough heading into the Caribbean. Once we were in the Caribbean it was smooth sailing (literally). But the view from our bed was incredible!

The first day was Coco Cay, Royal Caribbean’s private island. We had booked an all day poolside cabana with drink service, but we had to cancel because I was still so sick from the boat ride over. I was hopped up on Dramamine and so sleepy even though it said it was non-drowsy. So we had to just enjoy the view from our balcony.

The 2nd day was at sea and I was feeling much better! We had a lovely dinner with his Admiral Farragut Academy alumni, I got to know them more. Plus they Brought us some of our wedding cake to share again with everyone. Most of the day we spent in the pool areas. I love that Royal Caribbean has a large amount of “adults only” pools and pool areas. As well as covered pool areas in case it’s raining.

I wore my Bride swimsuit and my Hooters fanny pack. Back story on that…when Kaley had passed I was not doing well, I wasn’t eating, I wasn’t sleeping, I was crying all day so Lorenzo took me on a weekend trip to Catalina (that’ll be another blog post another time) and when we landed in Long Beach we passed a Hooters on our way home. Kaley used to work there in college and it was her favorite job. We stopped in, toasted in her honor and I saw a hot pink (K and I’s favorite color) fanny pack and knew I needed it for our honeymoon.

Next day we were in St. Thomas, which is one of my top 3 favorite places to travel. The water is crystal clear, it’s warm, the people are so friendly and it’s just GORGEOUS! We had a catamaran and snorkeling adventure planned. I’ve snorkeled many times in St. Thomas and it’s my favorite place for snorkeling. I see sea turtles, parrot fish and so many bright colored neon fish every time. It’s absolutely magical. Lorenzo and I were snorkeling together, holding hands off and on. No one has great peripheral vision when they’re snorkeling because of the thick side walls of the masks. He stayed on my right and we were just enjoying all of the beautiful fish. I saw a giant neon fish that looked like a fish you’d see in an in home aquarium except it was about 2-3 feet long. I grabbed his hand and pointed it out. Then we held hands and swam for about 5-10 minutes. Then I see *real* Lorenzo on my left. I look to my right wondering whose hand I’m holding, turned out to be a totally different guy. Lorenzo was like “were you holding that guy’s hand?!” Oopsie daisies! Random guy and I shared a very touching moment together. I joked with Lorenzo that we may get back to the catamaran and I’ll have a new boyfriend. Yikes! I didn’t see him again on the boat so I’m unsure where he went. Godspeed friend! I did meet another friend on the boat, she was doing the excursion alone and we hung out. We got to this fun little tiki bar, but none of us brought our wallets because everything was included on the catamaran. Luckily the lady running the bar recognized Lorenzo and gave us shots if we took her picture with him. Then we all went swimming and Lorenzo found a HUGE conch shell. I wish I could have taken a picture but our phones were on the boat. There was a creature living inside so we put it back in the water where we found it. It was definitely my favorite day of our honeymoon.
Next day we were at sea. We had a really relaxing day by the pool, I spent time with my new friend I had met the day prior, not the guy I snorkeled with but the other lady I had met. Lorenzo wanted to read and I am terrible at not interrupting his book reading with my incessant chatter. Then we met up for lunch, laid in our chairs by the pool and later that evening there was a Halloween party. I was so excited, Halloween is my favorite holiday and to spend it on the boat was a great time! They had a Halloween parade, everyone dressed up amazingly well and we met up with the Admiral Farragut peeps. I went as a llama since it was my first Halloween as Mrs. L Lamas (llamas) and he went as a gaucho, an Argentine cowboy. It was perfect since he’s 1/2 Argentine.

4th day was St. Maarten we had another snorkeling excursion planned. It was really beautiful in St. Maarten, I had never been there before. Coming into the port was really fun to watch from the Solarium on the Royal Caribbean.

This snorkeling excursion was a little rough for me. I did love the wreckage, there was an entire helicopter below us that tons of fish were swimming in an out of. A whole dock with a helicopter pad had been submerged so there were tons of pillars and statues below the water to swim around. However there were TONS of jellyfish, little ones thank God. But I thought for sure they wouldn’t sting because why on earth would they take a bunch of tourists in an area with jellyfish that sting?! But sure enough, I was surrounded by a ton of them and when I’d move away they’d follow me. I shouted to the lady on the boat overseeing all of us if they sting and she calmly replies, “oh yeah and it hurts so bad!” So I started panicking and wanted to go back to the boat we were on. I was done. They were all over me, everywhere I looked one was like an inch from my hair. No thanks! The boat ride there and back was fun though, they had music playing and drinks flowing.
Once we got to shore we had a great time swimming in water not jellyfish infested. It was crystal blue and we walked along the beach and then found this really cool restaurant called Dutch Blonde Beach Bar that overlooked the ocean. Their food was amazing!

That evening we watched an incredible ice skating show on the boat. They bring in past Olympic champion ice skaters for a really incredible show where they project flowers and nature scenes on the ice and their costumes reflect the seasons they’re representing. It was very unique and we loved watching it.
The last day we were heading back to Port Canaveral. We had a really nice final farewell dinner with the Admiral Farragut friends at The Mason Jar, a southern comfort style restaurant. Our table overlooked the ocean and we just soaked up our last few moments on the ship. Overall it was the perfect honeymoon and we had such a fun time!
Next up will be Puerto Penasco. My blogs are never in order of the trips we have taken. In between our honeymoon and Puerto Penasco in April, we have been to Paris, Spain, LA/OC and I’m sure I’m forgetting some places. However, I like to write about a trip when I’m feeling inspired by it. Thanks for tuning into our adventures!
